© As the eight-year development cycle finally comes to an end, Deep Silver and Dambuster Studio have announced a special demo of Dead Island 2 early next month.
The premiere will take place on December 6 on the official YouTube channel of Dead Island. The presentation was announced via Twitter as an invitation to a red carpet event promising “action, violence and zombies”.
Dead Island 2 reappeared at Gamescom Opening Night Live in August, where it served as the show’s final announcement. The game was originally announced at E3 2014 during the PlayStation press conference for a 2015 release, but numerous issues, including the loss of several developers, left it dormant until the ONL.
As a result of the latest delay, Dead Island 2 has been pushed back 12 weeks from February 3rd to April 28th. The delay announcement – which also makes reference to the December 6 demo for the first time – mentions the game’s turbulent development history: “The irony of Dead Island 2’s delay has not gone unnoticed, and we’re as disappointed as you are, no doubt.”
Dead Island 2 releases April 28 on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5 and PC.
