《宝可梦：朱/紫》作为系列首个开放世界游戏，已经登陆任天堂Switch平台，这款游戏虽然遇到了性能和各种BUG问题，一度被骂上热搜，但是丝毫未能阻挡游戏热销。根据任天堂和宝可梦公司官方公布的数据，这款游戏在上市三天里就卖出了至少一千万份！真就是“骂完记得买！”
任天堂在官方公告中透露，自2022年11月18日发售以来，Switch游戏《宝可梦：朱/紫》的全球销量在上市的头三天就超过了一千万份，这一记录也打破了所有任天堂游戏最初三天的销售记录。
《宝可梦：朱/紫》是《宝可梦：剑/盾》发售三年后的该系列正统续作，也是系列首款开放世界游戏，玩家能在其中自由自在地冒险，无缝衔接的辽阔自然风光与城镇街景，以及生活在此的宝可梦们。包括天空、大海、森林、街道，玩家在这个世界的任何角落都有可能看到它们的身影。本作已于11月18日正式发售。
